A leading global chemical company managed a major CEO transition with the help of a dedicated executive speaking program. As the very high-profile CEO prepared for retirement, the office of the CEO asked the three leading internal candidates to raise their respective speaking profiles internally amongst a global cadre of employees and externally in the 18 months leading to the transition.
S3 worked with the office of CEO Communications to build the external reputations of the three executive team members being considered to replace the retiring CEO.
We engaged with each executive and their communications teams directly to understand their respective areas of expertise, then strategically placed each of them in key speaking roles at the most prominent conferences addressing those areas.
In this process we highlighted several key leadership concepts that were important to the client including how they focus their innovation engine on delivering new technologies that meet society’s greatest needs, while reducing their own footprint.
The company’s brand was also elevated as these leaders engaged more public business conversations on pressing issues related to innovation, emerging markets, manufacturing, STEM, sustainability, and energy.
